With the holy season of Lent upon us, it is a great time to think of special things you can do to help make this time in the Church year fruitful. The Conception Abbey Guest Center has prepared a series of Lenten retreats and days of recollection during this time as we journey to our joyous celebration of Easter. Lenten Day of Reflection – March 8

Lent is a special time in the church calendar. Come away for a day of reflection and quiet to help you focus your Lenten intentions as you prepare for the Easter Season. A member of the monastic community will guide you through during the day, with time to join the entire community for Mass. The day begins with coffee and rolls at 9:00 followed by a conference, Mass and lunch follow. There will be more quiet time and a concluding conference at 2:30 pm. The Mass as the Perfect Sacrifice – March 24-26

Fr. Albert Bruecken, O.S.B. will guide this retreat weekend in looking at the Jewish notion of sacrifice leading up to the time of Christ to understand how the sacrifice of Christ “completes and surpasses all other sacrifices” (CCC 614). By exploring the depths of meaning contained in the phrase, “the sacrifice of the Mass,” you should come away better able to participate in this most precious gift of our faith. Retreat fee for lodging, meals, conferences and reception: $180 for a single room; $300 per room ($150 each) for a double room. Palm Sunday: RCIA and Adult Faith Renewal Retreat – April 8-9

Originally planned to help our brothers and sisters who are soon to enter into full communion with the Church, sponsors, and any Catholic hoping to enrich their faith understanding of the sacramental life of the Church have found this twenty-four-hour retreat a blessing in their lives. Scheduled on Palm Sunday weekend, this retreat provides for an unforgettable time of prayer, processions during the final days of the Lenten season leading up to Easter. Paschal Triduum at Conception Abbey – April 13-16

Celebrate the Sacred Triduum at the Abbey. Join the monks and seminarians for the holiest days of the Church year, celebrating Christ’s Paschal Mystery in community. Moving liturgies in the Abbey Basilica, inspiring conferences, the opportunity for celebrating Reconciliation, and times for silence and personal prayer mark these holy days at Conception Abbey and Seminary College.
