The Printery House welcomed Br. David Wilding, OSB, as their new director in February. The Printery House is one of the primary ministries of the monks of Conception Abbey.

As Director of The Printery House, Wilding will oversee all areas of the business, including sales and marketing, product development, personnel, and finance.

Prior to being appointed the director, Wilding worked at The Printery House, overseeing its retail and wholesale websites, administering the inventory database, and contributing to communications efforts.

“I look forward to exploring new product types that we can offer to our existing customers as well as to attract new customers,” Wilding said. “I hope to continue the process of updating The Printery House to keep up with current production methods and the product needs of our customers, expanding our capabilities as warranted.”

The Printery House fits into a niche market seeking authentic, high-quality, American-made Christian greeting cards for all occasions.

“Our customers frequently tell us that it is hard to find meaningful Christian cards from other sources,” Wilding said. “This is especially true for sacramental occasions such as First Communion, Confirmation, and Ordination.”

The Printery House’s special cards for giving to clergy and religious for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and Easter also fill a unique need. In addition to cards, they provide a carefully vetted selection of quality Christian gifts for all occasions, some of which are also produced in house.

The Printery House also offers custom printing services for area organizations and individuals.

“I will also be looking for new marketing opportunities to expand our customer base and increase sales so that we can better utilize the loyal workforce at The Printery House,” he said.

The Printery House currently employs 16 year-round employees, three seasonal employees and three monks, including Wilding, Br. Michael Marcotte, OSB, Br. Elias Zaczkieicz, OSB, and Br. Luke Kral, OSB.

Furthermore, The Printery House provides support for the monks of Conception Abbey and their work of priestly formation at Conception Seminary College.

“We are proud to provide jobs that our employees find meaningful through their participation in our evangelization ministry of the printed Word of God and art, which reaches around the country and to 15 countries worldwide,” Wilding said.

About The Printery House

The cards and other contemporary religious products produced by The Printery House proclaim the Gospel and carry the Christian faith throughout the world. Most of the prayers and affirmations on our cards and products are provided by the monks who live, work and pray at Conception. As an apostolic work of mission, The Printery House shares our ministry and the Good News of God’s love while helping to support the Benedictine Monastic community of monks who call Conception Abbey home.
