The Day in the Windy City

I celebrated Mass on my secondary feast day (Conversion of St. Paul) for the group who traveled along with the Conception Seminary team and served as “Fans” or “Cheerleaders.” We had planned to leave St. Benedict’s Abbey and catch a 10:45am train from Fox Lake to Chicago, but missed it by minutes. So, instead, we drove into the city and ate delicious pizza at Giordano’s.  It was another very cold day with a biting wind.  We made our way to “the bean” (Cloud Gate) in Chicago’s Millennium Park to take some pictures.  The crew is pictured below.
740_740_IMG_1604 740_IMG_1606Even with our best cheering efforts, Conception Seminary’s basketball team could not get their offense going and fell short in the semi-finals game, losing to Sacred Heart Seminary (Detroit, MI).  Conception will play Sunday morning for 3rd place.740_IMG_1635 740_IMG_1795Above:  The two teams gather for prayer after the game.
