Conception Columbarium
The monks of Conception Abbey are pleased to share with you our new Columbarium.
What is a columbarium?
A columbarium is a room, building, or wall that is designated for the inurnment of the cremated remains of people who have died. The term “columbarium” comes from the Latin columba, meaning dove, because columbaria usually have niches to hold urns that resemble those in dove houses.
Conception Abbey’s Columbarium offers a peaceful, sacred, and meaningful final resting place for individuals and families, rooted in the Benedictine tradition. Benefits to choosing this location for eternal rest include:

We are now offering the opportunity to register your interest in purchasing a niche (individual compartment for remains). Filling out the form below will allow us to reach out to you once our logistics are complete.

Columbarium niches can be purchased in advance or after a loved one has passed.
More about purchasing a niche:
- Cost per niche is $5,000.
- Either one or two sets of cremated remains may be placed in a niche.
- Niche dimensions are 9 ½” wide X 11” tall X 14 ¾” depth.
- Front panel will be engraved with last name, first name, date of birth, and date of death of person(s) in niche.
