The sanctuary in Conception Abbey’s Basilica of the Immaculate Conception recently received architectural and artistic enhancements. Plenary Indulgence
On the occasion of our 150th anniversary of the founding of Conception Abbey, the Holy Father has granted visitors to the Basilica between May 10, 2023 and May 10, 2024, the opportunity to receive a plenary indulgence if they satisfy the regular requirements. An indulgence is the remission of the temporal punishment due to sins that have already been forgiven.
The official requirements for receiving a plenary indulgence are:

- A complete and whole-hearted detachment from all sin of any kind, even venial sin
- Making a valid sacramental confession
- Receiving Holy Communion in the state of grace
- Praying for the intentions of the Pope.
