Lenten Retreats at the Abbey Guest Center

The Conception Abbey Guest Center has planned a series of Lenten retreats to help us enter into the spirit of renewal and faith to which our yearly observance of Lent calls us. Read more about our Lenten retreat offerings below and to make plans to attend a retreat, contact the Abbey Guest Center at (660) 944-2809 or guests@conception.edu.

Feb. 16-18: “Praying the Stations of the Cross and Handling Failure”
Prayerfully we will follow Jesus as he makes his way to Calvary, by meditating with each of the Stations of the Cross. What can you learn from Jesus when you face your own failures and struggles or false accusations? Walk the way of Calvary with Jesus and learn about the man of faith, hope and unconditional love.

Feb. 21: Lenten Day of Reflection
Spend a quiet day at Conception Abbey to help you enter the spirit of Lent. The focus will be on praying the penitential psalms.  The Day of Reflection begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m and includes conferences, mass with the community, and lunch.  Cost per person is $20.

March 16-18: Icon Retreat
Learn how to read and discover all the beautiful and prayerful messages written to each icon. Then learn how to use these sacramental images as a means to prayer and reflection. Each person will go home with numerous icons and a booklet to help them continue their learning. Retreatants will also have the opportunity to attend prayer and Eucharist with the monastic community.

March 24-25: Palm Sunday RCIA and Adult Faith Renewal Retreat
Originally planned to help our brothers and sisters who are soon to enter in full communion with the Church, sponsors and any Catholic hoping to enrich their faith understanding of the sacramental life of the Church have found this twenty-four-hour retreat a blessing in their lives.  Scheduled on the Palm Sunday weekend provides for an unforgettable time of prayer during the final days of the Lenten season leading up to Easter.

March 29-April 1: The Paschal Triduum at Conception Abbey
Join the monastic and seminary community for the most sacred days of the year. Rich liturgies, daily retreat talks, time for silence and a joyous Easter Vigil celebration will all be part of these days at Conception Abbey.
