Calligraphy Retreat: Bible Scripts Gothic Quadrata

Retreatants study Gothic Quadrata, one of the hands used in the writing of bibles from the 12^th to 17th centuries. Demonstration of historical tools, materials and the creation of illuminated letters. Participants are supplied with paper, brushes, gold leaf and paint. Participants bring their ink, dip pen (Speedball C-2) and layout paper. Limited to 12 persons. Materials fee $15. Prerequisite: “Lettering the Word” retreat and “Bible Scripts Preparatory Retreat.” Begins at 7:45 p.m. on Monday through lunch on Saturday. $50 deposit required, not refundable after April 29. Fees for accommodations and meals: $350 for single accommodations, $300 per person for double accommodations.
