Bishop Johnston Visits

It is with great joy that we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception each year. It reminds us of what good things God has worked in Mary’s life and in her role as Mother of God. Similarly, it is a particuarly special day for the monks of Conception Abbey, since it is our patronal feast day. This year we celebrate 142 years as a monastic community. What a great gift!

To add to the joy of the day, our new bishop, Bishop James V. Johnston was able to celebrate with us. He was present at First Vespers of the Solemnity and he presided and preached at Mass on Tuesday. We are very blessed to have Bishop Johnston as the shepherd of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
