Conception Abbey Mission Statement

Conception Abbey exists in order:

•  To praise God and become more Christ-like through a common life as given in the Rule of St. Benedict.

•  To cultivate a love of liturgy and the divine office.

•  To proclaim the Good News of salvation.

•  To prepare seminarians for the priesthood and lay leaders to meet the needs of the Church.

•  To minister in Christ-like service to all people through the Abbey Center for Prayer and Ministry, the Printery House and parishes, hospitals and convents.

•  To be open in ministry to rural people through wise stewardship of the land and natural resources.

•  To be ready to found new communities of Benedictine life, wherever the Holy Spirit and the Church call.

Conception Seminary College Mission Statement

The Mission of Conception Seminary College is the preparation of candidates for the ordained ministry in the Roman Catholic Church, through spiritual, intellectual, and character formation in the Benedictine tradition.

The Vision

A vibrant community, living the Benedictine tradition, drawing all people to Christ in communion with one another.

The Goals:

•  Live and share the Benedictine tradition

•  Extend Benedictine hospitality in an environment of peace and beauty

•  Draw all people to Christ through spirituality, ministry, and education

•  Prepare seminarians for priestly service in the Church of the future
