Abbey conducting search for Development Director

Conception Abbey is conducting a national search for a new director of development following the resignation of alumnus Steven Rogers.

Dr. Larry Kramer, who has served as Conception’s campaign and strategic planning consultant since 2001, will act as interim director. Kramer, former president of Avila University in Kansas City, served for six years on the Conception Seminary College Board of Regents before accepting an invitation to spearhead the recently completed A Living Tradition capital campaign.

A search committee has been formed that seeks a person who possesses strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, a proven record of full-time administrative experience with non-profit institution(s). This experience would include work with volunteers and multiple organizations. Preferred experiences include work with major gifts, comprehensive campaigns, planned and deferred giving, corporate and foundation solicitation, annual fund campaigns and event planning. Essential is the ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively with the development and communication staffs, as well as administrators, faculty and board members of a seminary college.

Conception Abbey and Conception Seminary College have a joint donor base of 20,000 people. It prints Tower Topics, a quarterly publication with a circulation of more than 20,000.

Compensation is negotiable and based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health and life insurance, paid holy days and holidays, vacation time, an employer-subsidized retirement plan and others benefits.

The position will remain opened until filled. Send letter of application, resume, salary expectation and three references (including phone numbers) to: Abbot Gregory Polan, O.S.B., Conception Abbey, P.O. Box 501, Conception, Missouri 64433. Conception Abbey, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
