Abbey Trails 5K/2-mile walk raises $4,200 for seminary Wellness
Program

The 7th Annual Abbey Trails 5K run and two-mile walk drew 150 runners and walkers April 20 and
raised $4,200 for the Conception Seminary College Wellness Program.
Kevin Guest of Rea, Mo., was the overall winner in the men’s category, finishing the 5-kilometer
course in 17:39, followed by Larry Davison of Hopkins, Mo., at 19:18.
The women’s overall winner was Sara Snow of Maryville, Mo., who finished at 21:15, followed by
Sarah Rhoten of Urbandale, Iowa, at 23:09.

Sara Snow, overall winner in the women's division.
In the two-mile walk participants estimated their completion time before the event and then
tried to finish closest to that time.
The money from Abbey Trails will help fund the Wellness Program, which was created in 1987 to
support positive health practices in the seminary and surrounding communities by teaching the
skills needed for physical, emotional and spiritual well being. The program is open to the
public and offers racquetball, aerobics, water aerobics, swimming, weight training and other
activities.
This year’s event drew 67 people for the two-mile walk and 78 for the run and five rollerbladers.
