Pastors' day

Conception Seminary College held its inaugural Pastors' Day March 20. Seminarians invited the pastors from their home parishes to campus for a reception, tours of the campus and a banquet.

The event, which will be an annual occurrence, was conceived by the seminary's Board of Regents to provide continuity for seminarians from their parish to the seminary community. Many of the seminarians return to their parishes in the summer months to assist their pastors. Pastors are often the first and most profound influence on young men who consider the priesthood. Many seminarians credit the personal invitation of their pastors for sparking an interest in attending seminary.

While more than 60 pastors registered to attend the Pastors' Day, a severe winter storm prevented about half from attending.
