CSC Cagers place third

The Conception Seminary College basketball team placed third in the Mundelein Seminary Shootout basketball tournament Jan. 24-26.

Conception edged Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary 34-30 in the first round and followed with a 36-29 loss to the eventual tournament champion Moreau Seminary-College. CSC ended the tournament with back-to-back thrillers. A buzzer-beater shot by Nick Reid lifted Conception over St. Joseph Seminary 25-23.

In the consolation game Trevor Wedman beat the buzzer with an offensive rebound putback as Conception nipped Kenrick-Glennon 27-25.
