Damian Carrillo (C89-90) and his wife Sonya have a new daughter, Monica Lyn Suzanne, born October 25, 2001 in Wichita, Kan.

Deaths
Robert Allgaier, father of Fr. Sebastian Allgaier, O.S.B. (PT 86-88), died Oct. 27, 2001, in Lawson, Mo.

Fr. Michael Fitzgerald (C71-74), priest of the Archdiocese of Dubuque, died in a car accident Oct. 2, 2001, near Stockton, Ill.

Joseph Hornicak, father of John Hornicak (PT98-99), died Oct. 25, 2001, in Joliet, Ill.

Fr. Maurice McQuinn (C31-33), priest of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, died Dec. 23, 2001, in Kansas City, Mo.

Fr. Ambrose Stratman (C40-42) died Dec. 20, 2001, in St. Louis, Mo.

Mary Agnes Waris, mother of Fr. Gerald Waris (C59-63,T63-67) and William Waris (H58-62, C62-66), died Nov. 23, 2001, in Overland Park, Kan.

Varia
Bill Bray (PT 90-91) visited Conception recently with his wife Laura. They were married two years ago in Italy and now live in the Twin Cities where Bill is employed by Honeywell.

Roderick Hindery (H47-49, C49-55, T55-57) published a book in the summer of 2001, Indoctrination and Self-deception or Free and Critical Thought. He taught from 1968 to 1997 as a professor in social and comparative ethics in the religious studies departments of Temple University, California State University at Northridge and Fullerton, and Arizona State where he remains an adjunct professor.

Bishop David Ricken (C72-74) was recently elected president of the board of directors of the National Catholic Rural Life Conference.

George Rigazzi (C78-80) serves as director of the Office of Family Life for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. He presented a December lecture series on church history at the Cathedral parish center. He has served as principal and director of religious education at St. James School in Oklahoma City and also taught at Bishop McGuinness High School there as well. In addition he studied canon law and worked in the tribunal of the archdiocese.
