Dr. Christopher Anadale, assistant professor of philosophy, served as a faculty member at Lindenwood University’s first annual summer school program.  The week-long series of seminars, titled “The American Decentralist Tradition,” was held in July at the Daniel Boone Village in Defiance, Mo.

Mrs. Sarah Armijo, mother of Sister Maria Armijo, Director of the Language Culture & Church Program, died July 4, at her home in Santa Fe, N.M. She was 93 years old.

Fr. Albert Bruecken, OSB led a retreat for the Benedictine Sisters at Our Lady of Peace Monastery in Columbia, Mo, from August 6–10 this past summer.

Fr. Daniel Petsche, OSB joined alumnus Fr. Edwin Cole in playing in the UMKC Community Accordion Orchestra under the direction of Joan Sommers at the 60th annual Coupe Mondiale in Alexandria, VA Aug 13-18, 2007.  Accordion orchestras, ensembles, and individual soloists gathered for concert performances and competition from 25 different countries from around the world and 17 states in the USA.

Abbot Gregory Polan, OSB preached the annual retreat to the La Salette community of priests and brothers in Attelboro, Mass. from June 4-8, 2007.

Fr. Duane Reinert, OFM Cap., received word that the journal Counseling & Values has accepted his recent paper for publication.  It is co-authored with Drs. Carla Edwards and Rebecca Hendrix from Northwest Missouri State University and is titled “Attachment Theory and Religiosity: A Summary of Empirical Research with Implications for Counseling Christian Clients.”  The date of the publication has not yet been scheduled by the journal’s editor, but it will likely be in 2008 or early 2009.  This summer Fr. Duane also completed a continuing education program (40 contact hours) titled “Clinical Supervision in the Helping Professions.”
